Chris Cruz

In which city do you live?
San Antonio TX

How long have you been in the business?
I began training since is was 15yrs old, but continuously wrestling for about 1.5yrs now.

What inspired you want to get into the business?
Wrestling was one of the few things my brother and my father and I truly bonded on.

Where did you learn to wrestle?
I was trained by HotSauce Marco Riviera and currently I train at the Hybrid School of Wrestling in San Antonio TX under Chris Marval.

What are your signature moves and/or your finishers?
My signatures are the sitting/standing blockbusters and the sliced bread #2

What promotions have you wrestled for?
SOAR Championship Wrestling (Dallas, TX), Branded Outlaw Wrestling (San Antonio, TX), Destiny Wrestling Organization (Albuquerque,NM) are the most frequent I wrestle for.

What injuries have you sustained?
I have been lucky to only have dealt with a bruised rib.

Are you a face or a heel?
Chris Cruz stands for Pro Health, who could hate someone that promotes a healthy lifestyle??…No seriously…tell me…I’ll fight them.

What style(s) do you do?
I am currently working on my technical side thanks to Hybrid School of Wrestling.

What’s your entrance music? Why did you choose it?
Mantronix-King of the beats. Listen to those sirens, music to my ears.

Tell us about your first and/or your most memorable match.
My most memorable match would definitely be my first match. I was fortunate enough to enter the wrestling world with my older brother. After months of training we had our first match with an old company known as Buzzsaw Wrestling Alliance against each other. It was a god awful match which I unfortunately came up short in. However, I wouldn’t change the experience I had.

Who would you like to wrestle in the business?
I would jump at the chance to wrestle Matt Cross, Matt Sydal, and Chris Jericho. Why? I highly respect them for what they have accomplished for themselves. All my life I was known as the “little one” due to my stature. All of these men have proven that there is no longer a “must be this tall to wrestle” limit. To be able to face them across from a ring would mean the world to me.

What are the largest and smallest crowds you’ve ever wrestled for?
The smallest crowd I have ever wrestled for was in San Angelo TX. It was maybe a crowd of 10. But we put on the best show a crowd has ever seen. The largest crowd was for DWO in Albuquerque. There are constantly crowds that draw very close 300 at each and everyone of their shows.
