Ricky Combat

In which city do you live?
I live in Cork City in Ireland, I’ve lived here almost all my life. It’s home for me.

How long have you been in the business?
I started wrestling right after college. I’ve been wrestling for 4 years now.

What inspired you want to get into the business?
Quite honestly, I’ve always been a bit of an attention seeker. I’d played team based sport my whole life and decided I wanted to try my hand at something where I could be selfish

Where did you learn to wrestle?
I learned to wrestle with Celtic Championship Wrestling at their school in Cork. My trainer there was Blake Norton who had learned under the Hart’s in the Dungeon in Calgary. I also previously spent some time in Fight Factory in Bray.

What are your signature moves and/or your finishers?
Signatures: Sling Blade, Olympic slam, Gamengiri. Finisher GTS

What promotions have you wrestled for?
Celtic Championship Wrestling, Wrestling.ie, Irish Whip Wrestling, BEST Wrestling

What injuries have you sustained?
So far zero. I’ve had slight Issues with my shoulder but that’s more down to over training from strength exercises

Are you a face or a heel?
I’m predominantly face due to my lovable nature. I’m also a comfortable heel.

What style(s) do you do?
I’ll utilise a combination of styles depending on who my opponent is. I would classify myself an Allrounder

What’s your entrance music? Why did you choose it?
I use Boys of summer by The Ataris. It’s a cover of Don Henley. I love it as it embodies Pop punk with 80’s rock. It’s a good reflection of my fun loving character who can be brutal when warranted

Tell us about your first and/or your most memorable match.
My biggest and most memorable match was against Joe Hendry, Jordan Devlin and Will Ospreay for the What Culture Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. The match was a highlight reel from start to finish and the fans seemed to enjoy that. It was great to work with such talented professionals and I felt like I proved a point that I can work with the best.

Who would you like to wrestle in the business? Why?
Right now I think Marty Scurll is a name that I’d love to mix it up with. I think Marty is a great versatile talent who has made a name for himself on the indy scene emanating from the UK. I strive to follow his footsteps and I’d love the chance to work with him.

What do you want to be known for in the business?
I want people to know that they’re getting a good show if I’m on it. I can run with the ball if i’m given a shot.
